Pair Of Falcons Start Family Atop Cuomo Bridge
So far, and it's early yet, there is one egg in the man-made nest box above the Hudson River.

TARRYTOWN, NY — It appears a family has set up a home high above the Hudson River in the falcon suite of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
Two adult falcons were seen via the New York State Thruway Authority webcam, and now there is one egg.
The webcam is live and available online here to document the lives of the migratory raptors. Use the controls to replay or advance the frames. There is also live video through that link.

The man-made nest box can be found near the top of one of the 419-foot towers of the bridge.
Falcons typically lay three to five eggs in the early spring, with chicks, which are called eyases, hatching a month later.

Last year, a pair of falcons produced four eggs, all of which hatched.
The Thruway Authority said the public should be aware that peregrine falcons are wild birds. Their behaviors reflect what happens in nature, and some of them may be unpleasant to watch. It is possible that some of the fledglings may not survive into adulthood.
