Police: EF Student Assaulted
An unknown assailant allegedly kicked and injured a student early in the morning.

Tarrytown Police responded to the scene of an alleged assault on the EF campus, which could result in a student’s possible expulsion and deportation if investigators find out who that student is.
Lieutenant William Herguth said the identity of the suspect is still unknown. An EF-Education First security guard claimed to have witnessed the event and provided a statement, but authorities are having trouble identifying a suspect, Herguth said.
Apparently, a 19-year-old male student was sitting on a hill with a girlfriend early in the morning of Jan. 19, “having words,” Herguth said. One or two people then walked over and allegedly started kicking the teen.

At 5:34 a.m. a caller requested an ambulance to treat a cut over the victim’s eye. Officers and Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. Herguth said the young man was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital, where he received stitches.
EF security told police they would be following up with an internal investigation for possible expulsion/deportation of the assailant. Police are also still investigating. “If a crime is a committed, it’s a police matter,” Herguth said.
