Detectives report the arrest for an open grand larceny case in the village of Jonathan A. Masotti, 33, of Wappinger Falls, at the end of June.
Tarrytown police recovered evidence from his hotel room and car in Elmsford and initially charged with him criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree. "The hotel room and vehicle contained property that was allegedly purchased with a stolen credit card," said Police Chief Scott Brown.
His charge has since been upgraded to criminal possession of stolen property, an E Felony, Brown said, who said the case was still under investigation so he could not disclose more about what was stolen or the items' value.
Masotti was arrested and brought to headquarters, his Hyundai Accent impounded for the recovery of evidence. His bail was set at $500 cash, which he posted. He is due back in village court.
Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
