Several suddenly-shattered windows were reported by police in both villages recently:
On June 2 at 7:30 p.m. a woman reported to Sleepy Hollow Police that her rear window had shattered on Cortlandt Street. Officers thought that the window may have shattered due to a possible defect; the owner had replaced it once before.
In another incident, a woman reported to Sleepy Hollow Police that her rear window had been broken into between 1 and 5 p.m. on June 3. Police at the Gordon Avenue location thought instead that the window appeared to be blown out from the heat; they did not find any sign of a crime committed.
And in Tarrytown:
A Wilson Park Drive caller on the morning of June 4 reported the rear window of her van was broken. The van had been parked in front of her home overnight and it did not appear to have been entered. Police noted the incident for the record at this time.
