Popping Into The New School Year

The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns

The music was pumping while Sleepy Hollow Middle Schoolers celebrated a successful first week of the new academic year. On Friday, September 6, students were surprised with fresh popcorn, cool lemonade, and a DJ playing their favorite songs.

“Our goal is to create fun and memorable moments for our students during their time in middle school. This first week has been a huge transitional period for our sixth graders as they step into a new chapter, and we also want to ensure that our seventh and eighth graders feel celebrated and appreciated,” said Mayerlin Strippoli, Assistant Principal of Sleepy Hollow Middle School. “It’s so important for us to build a positive environment where all of our students feel valued and excited about their middle school journey.”

The event was made possible through district funds which paid for the music and treats.

“A special thank you to Brewed for You, who provided lemonade to cool everyone off and added an extra touch of sweetness to the day,” said Ms. Strippoli.
