Proposed $101M Tarrytown School District Budget On The Ballot May 20

Also on the ballot are six candidates vying for three seats on the Board of Education.

TARRYTOWN, NY — The 2025 budget and school board vote is May 20, and three seats are up for election on the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $101,350,265 is 3.82 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to be increased 4.18 percent.

"Our proposed 2025-2026 budget seeks to strengthen literacy support in elementary schools, improves transportation efficiency by adding bus drivers, and includes key safety and capital improvements — all while maintaining essential programs for students," Superintendent Ray Sanchez and Board of Education President Michelle DeFilippis said.

Three school board seats are up for election. The two candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be elected for four-year terms. The third-place winner will take an unexpired term seat.

The candidates running are: Alex Fletcher (incumbent), North Landesman, Ida Michael (incumbent), Kristina O'Gorman-Murphy, Liz Santillanes, and Amanda Wallwin (incumbent).
