In this blazing Sleepy Hollow taste of the daytime Animal and Acrobats fun going on this weekend at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton, it's all music and twirling fire under a starry sky.
Guests gathered in the back field of Philipsburg Manor (off the back parking lot) and enjoyed an otherworldly candle-lantern-lit walk along the water to the Visitor's Center before or after the show.
The complimentary bug spray was a nice touch. And Movies Made Here fans might enjoy knowing they were sitting on the very grounds used for a camping scene in a Vince Vaughn 'Delivery Man' comedy coming out soon.
Here's footage from Friday's show - music care of Boston-based Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band and fire from the intrepid troupe A Different Spin - expanded from last year by popular demand to stretch over two nights and four shows. There's a touch of comedy and a large amount of pyrotechnics (at a safe distance) in shows that are good for all ages, depending on how late you and your family want to stay up.
