Second Parcel Package Theft in Sleepy Hollow

The first incident was reported by a neighbor who saw something suspicious and resulted in an arrest, but this second case remains under investigation.

Only a day after police arrested a man found to have stolen a package from a porch, a second package theft occured in Sleepy Hollow.

On Dec. 11 at 3:12 p.m., a Chestnut Street resident came into police headquarters to report that a Fed-Ex delivery had been taken his house. Another envelope had also reportedly been opened with the contents taken. No witnesses have come forward and the case is under investigation, said Police Chief Gregory Camp.

After a Dec. 10 theft of a parcel package, a neighbor had called police which lead to the arrest of a Sleepy Hollow man.

Chief Gregory Camp said after the Dec. 10 arrest: 

The Sleepy Hollow Police Department would like to remind the public to be aware of their surroundings, especially this time of year. Be observant in your neighborhood and look out for neighbors. Many people are shopping on line and gifts are being sent during these holidays. Remain vigilant and if observing anything suspicious, immediately report this to the police department.

"If you see something, call us," Camp said, urging witnesses to "try to get a good description" on anyone they see doing something suspicious.
