Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Hudson Valley

The National Weather Service said severe weather is possible for much of the region Thursday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Severe weather could be heading to the Hudson Valley Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.

The watch is in effect until midnight Thursday.

Forecasts calls for a chance of showers mainly after 5 p.m. for southern Westchester. Showers and a thunderstorm are possible before 3 a.m. Friday.

Some of the storms could produce gusty winds.
