'A Show of Caring' Ukraine Benefit At Tarrytown Music Hall

The lineup of celebrated Ukrainian musicians volunteered their talents and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the war-torn people.

TARRYTOWN, NY — An upcoming concert will give residents of the Hudson Valley a chance to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine while helping to support those suffering and also offer the opportunity to explore a proud and artistically creative culture.

"A Show of Caring" benefit program will have international music performed by well-known distinguished contributors from a diverse sampling of music genres.

Performers include Ukrainian artists Irena Portenko on piano, Metropolitan Opera bass Stefan Szkafarowsky and the Ukrainian “Dumka” Chorus — plus countertenor Jeffrey Charles Palmer and pianist Svetlana Gorokhovich.

The Ukrainian “Dumka” Chorus rose to global acclaim following a Saturday Night Live episode on February 26 that moved audience members to tears.

Ukrainian-born Irena Portenko debuted as a soloist with the Ukrainian National Orchestra at age eight, performing Haydn's Concerto in D Major.

A Show of Caring: A Concert to Benefit Ukraine will take place at the Tarrytown Music Hall on March 27, at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $75 and can be purchased here. All proceeds after ticket fees will be donated to charities supporting Ukrainian rescue efforts.
