GREENBURGH, NY — Work on the North Washington sidewalk that will enable people to walk safely from West Hartsdale Avenue to Central Avenue will begin soon.

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said that retaining wall work will begin next week and construction on the sidewalk is scheduled to start Feb. 13.

Feiner said many residents have been encouraging the town to build a sidewalk on North Washington, which connects from West Hartsdale Avenue to Central Avenue.

“Our goal: to make Greenburgh a safe place for pedestrians,” he said. “Miles of new sidewalks have been built around town in recent years. And miles will continue to be built in the coming years.”

The town has started planning for a new sidewalk to be built on West Hartsdale Avenue, Feiner said, and construction on that should start within two years.

Other sidewalk projects include one of Dobbs Ferry Road, Hillside Avenue from town hall to South Road and Juniper Hill.
