Sister Martin Dies at Marymount Convent

Sr. Teresa Martin, 94, died at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY on January 5.

Born in Dublin, Ireland on March 31, 1918, to Stephen and Nora McGrath Martin, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Tarrytown in 1938.

Sr. Teresa taught at Marymount Secondary School in Tarrytown; Marymount School of New York; the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Manhattan. She ministered in Europe at the Marymount Schools in Paris, France; London, England; Barcelona, Spain; and, for more than 40 years at Marymount International School in Rome, Italy. She was living at Marymount Convent in Tarrytown at the time of her death.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in Ireland and in Canada.

Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown. Visiting Wednesday, December 9, 3:00 - 7:30 pm, Vigil Service 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, December 10, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY, 10591.
