A woman reported to Sleepy Hollow Police on May 7 at 5:10 p.m. that she had briefly left her car on Depeyster only to have her wallet stolen.
She said she parked at 3:40 p.m. and left her purse in the car unattended for a few minutes. The woman then drove home to Ossining and there realized her purse was missing. She then came back to the Sleepy Hollow police station to file a complaint.
Police were able to make an arrest the next day at 6:17 p.m. Â
Officers stopped Letroy Calhoun, 32, from Warburton Avenue in Yonkers in his car on College Avenue to interview him.
They ended up charging him for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, E felony; and forgery in the 2nd degree, a D felony.
Another charge for obstructing governmental administration was later issued as Calhoun refused to be fingerprinted in headquarters.
A second suspect was also located in his car on Depeyster and Cortlandt Street and brought to headquarters for investigation, but he was not charged.Â
