Creative Writing Summer Camps for Kids!

Join us for in person summer writing classes for kids at the Philipse Manor RR station in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

For students in grades 4-7, we are partnerning with Tarrytown Arts Camp to present "Writing for the Screen" from July 25-29 9am-1pm. In August, our Writers Express summer camp will have options for younger and older students.

For Students in grades 3-5, we have two weeklong camp options:
Creating Books on August 1-5 from 9am-12noon for $200/week and
Playing with Plays! on August 8-12 from 9am-12noon for $200/week.

For Students in grades 6-8, we also have two weeklong camps:
Making Memoirs: An introduction to Creative Nonfiction on August 15-19 from 9am-12noon for $200/week and So You Want to Write a Novel? on August 22-26 from 9am-12noon for $200/week.

Classes will be taught by instructor Misty Yarnall, who received her BFA in Creative Writing from Purchase College. Her work can be found in a handful of literary magazines, including Prime Number Magazine, The Roadrunner Review, KAIROS Literary Magazine, and The Merrimack Review. She holds awards in the Sixth Act Playwriting Competition and the POV Fest Screenwriting Contest. She has served as an apprentice and intern within the youth programming department at Writers & Books and is an active editing intern with DLG Publishing Partners.
