'Take The Train To The Tarrytown Halloween Parade,' Officials Urge

Over 10,000 parade attendees are expected on Saturday. Visitors are advised to park in nearby towns and ride the train to Tarrytown.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Tarrytown officials have a message for those headed to their überpopular Halloween festivities: unless you're being chased by a headless horseman, consider public transportation.

The 22nd Annual Tarrytown Halloween Parade is taking place on Saturday, and over 10,000 residents and visitors are expected to head to Broadway and Main Street for the spooky costumes, creative floats, live music, and Halloween fun. The parade will start at 5 p.m. at Patriots Park, proceed along Broadway and then down Main Street. For safety reasons, spectators will not be allowed inside the park. Be sure to arrive early to get your prime viewing spot.

Due to the growing popularity of the parade every year, village officials are urging all out-of-town visitors to consider taking the train from one of the neighboring communities to the Tarrytown station, to avoid the traffic problems and limited parking, and also to check out one of the Hudson River towns before or after the parade.
