Tarrytown PD: Grand Larcenies, Child Stuck in McDonald's High Chair

Grand Larceny Motorcycle, Tools

Police are investigating two separate cases of grand larceny in Tarrytown recently.

A caller reported the possible theft of her son's motorcyle to Tarrytown police on the evening May 30. She said that the bike was parked at the Neighborhood House on 43 Wildey Street. It was last seen at 9:30 p.m. on May 29.

Both Alex's Towing and a Neighborhood House employee were contacted by police and reported no vehicle had been removed by them. Police filed a case for grand larceny for a bike exceeding $1,000 in value.

In another incident, a caller reported tools missing from the construction site on West Main Street on June 5 at 7:14 a.m. An officer reported several tools were apparently stolen from a locked steel tool container. The grand larceny allegedly occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. The detective division is investigating.

This tool theft follows a similar grand larceny case from the same area in April.

Gun Shots?

Police received a 911 call from a Tarry Place resident who heard possible gun shots followed by their C02 detector sounding. The fire department responded and said the batteries in the detectors had exploded. They replaced the batteries.

Heat Exposure at Fair

A patient possibly suffering heat stroke was transported by ambulance from the Main Street fair on June 2 at 1:30 p.m. to the Phelps Memorial Hospital. The patient was reportedly from a group home in White Plains but had no identification and was mentally challenged and not verbal, so responders were not able to get his identity right away.

Entered Through Sun Roof

A person came to Tarrtyown Police headquarters to report that his car, a 2013 Ford Focus, had been entered while he was parked at the Skate Shack on Neperan Road around 11:30 a.m. on June 4. Someone entered, possibly through the sun roof, and took his radar detector and computer bag containing miscellaneous clothing and personal items. No damage was reported to the car. Police filed a case petty larceny.

Child Stuck in McDonald's High Chair

A caller reported to police on June 5 at 2:46 p.m. that her grandchild was stuck in a high chair in the Tarrytown McDonald's restaurant. Officers reported that the child had been removed from the chair without incident.
