Tarrytown PD: Mystery Mercedes, Man in Snow
A summary of incidents in Tarrytown Dec. 27, 2012 through Jan. 3, 2013

Bus vs. Car
On Dec. 28 at 6:20 a.m., police received a report of an accident between a Rockland County Tappan Zee Express bus and a Toyota Camry at Central Avenue and Cottage Place. Accident report filed. Lieutenant William Herguth had no further information on the damages or circumstances of the incident.

Benedict Accident
On Dec. 29 at 1:08 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Benedict Avenue with one car possibly off the road. Officers on the scene requested towing from Stiloski’s for a car that had collided with a tree. Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps was also dispatched for the driver complaining of a leg injury. Though it was a one-car accident, the driver reported that the incident occurred when they were attempting to avoid another car stopped in the middle of the roadway.

Lying in Snow
On January 1 at 12:32 a.m. a caller reported that there was a young man lying in the snow on Beech Lane. Police reported finding a highly intoxicated man there. TVAC was called to the scene as were the young man’s parents. TVAC transported him to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
Mystery Mercedes
On January 2 at 6:05 a.m., a woman came into headquarters to report that a silver Mercedes had been following her throughout town and even into the parking lot of police headquarters now. Police saw the car leaving the parking lot. The owner was listed in a house with no numbers to contact. The woman claimed she didn’t know the Mercedes' owner and said that he may be mistaking her for someone else since she was driving a rental car. She wished no further action to be taken beyond a blotter entry at this time.
