A 911 caller, a taxi driver, informed police on June 8 just after 11 p.m. that he had just observed three suspicious men at the train station, one of which he believed to be armed.
He described one of the men as wearing a red t-shirt. A man fitting the description was found on the west side of the train station, but police found no weapon on him.
The witness further reported that the man, who allegedly had a handgun, was holding the weapon in the area of the ATM machine at the station. He then apparently placed the weapon in a bag he was carrying on his back.
When police arrived, the witness said he believed the suspects crossed over the tracks.
MTA and Tarrytown units searched the entire west side of the tracks with no results. MTA would be following up by checking their surveillance cameras.
