Tarrytown police received a call about a domestic dispute on Park Avenue on the afternoon of May 28. A man said he had just been assaulted by his 45-year-old son.
The man said his son struck him in the mouth and face and then left on foot.
The son meanwhile walked into police headquarters but then left; police said he was asked to come back in by a detective for further investigation.
The son was placed in the holding call at the station as Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps went to Park to treat the father. A detective took photographs and collected evidence at the home.
Police found that the son had an order of protection out permitting him from going on or near that residence.
Judge Kyle McGovern set bail at $5,000 for the son, who was taken to Weschester County Jail in Valhalla on charges of:
- assault in the second degree,
- criminal contempt of court mandate in the second degree,
- and criminal mischief/intentional damage to property.
