TARRYTOWN, NY — The next Board of Trustees in the village of Tarrytown has been moved from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday to ensure the presence of a quorum.

Officials said there will be two public hearings on local laws at the meeting related to changes in the tax code.

One proposed law would reduce the number of years of active service required for volunteer emergency responders in order to receive a tax benefit. It also considers allowing the exemption for the un-remarried spouse in the case of the death of the volunteer, according to certain criteria.

The other local law brings the property tax exemption for seniors into conformity with the federal standards of what constitutes taxable income.

Both proposed local laws can be found in the agenda for the Jan. 16 meeting.
