Tarrytown Urges Residents To Prepare For Henri
Officials said the tropical storm could turn into a hurricane and track further west into the Hudson Valley.
TARRYTOWN, NY — Tarrytown village officials are urging residents to prepare now in case Tropical Storm Henri heads more toward the Hudson Valley.
This is the first time in 10 years that the National Weather Service has issued a hurricane watch for portions of the tri-state area since Hurricane Irene in August 2011.
Village officials said heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in Tarrytown.

Rainfall estimates vary widely depending on how the storm tracks. One to 2 inches of rain is anticipated, however, the total rainfall may reach as high as 5 inches.
Additionally, high sustained winds are anticipated in the range of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts of 45 to 55 mph.

"We advise the public to keep an eye on official weather reports in the event forecasted rains and/or winds change, village officials said.
Should trees fall in the roadway, they should be reported to the Tarrytown Police Department at 914-631-5544.
Downed electrical wires should be to the police and to Con Edison at 800-752-6633. Power outages should also be reported to Con Edison.
