Update on Greystone Development: Plantings in September

Patch reader Rich commented on a previous article on the Greystone development underway near the border of Irvington and Tarrytown:

"At one time not too long ago there was a promise to have Spring plantings complete this Spring (2013) and a sign was put up stating this. Well, it is now May 19 and the sign has been taken down and there are no plantings."

Now we are into June and developer Andy Todd says that due to the typical and unforeseen variables in such timeline projections, the planting schedule has been delayed. Now it is too warm to plant and they have to wait until September, he said.

There is infrastructure work underway now -- Con Edison is burying lines.

I wondered if all the rain is causing any trouble for what is now a large swath of acreage with no green to anchor things, but he said the rain hasn't caused any real problems.

"We're moving as fast as anybody's ever moved," Todd said.

In three months time, he expects the infrastructure will be done. Plantings are slated now for September. Come next summer, we should see the first house up, on the way to a total of eight large homes in Tarrytown and 12 in Greenburgh.
