Valentine's Day Phelps Blood Drive

Phelps always needs blood; have a heart and donate on Feb. 14.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, this day of all things red and heart-related, than to give blood?

Phelps Memorial Hospital Center is holding a special V-Day blood drive on Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westchester Marriott, 670 White Plains Road, Tarrytown.

In order to donate blood, a person must be in good general health and:

  • Be at least 17 years old. (A person 16 years of age may donate blood with parental consent.)
  • Weigh 110 pounds or more
  • Have not donated within the previous 8 weeks
  • Present official form of identification, preferably one that shows signature and /or photo.

Every three seconds someone in the United States needs a lifesaving blood transfusion. There is no substitute for human blood, so when you donate blood, you are truly giving a "Gift of Life."

Phelps is also happy to have donors each and every weekday, here's directions and hours:

Phelps' Blood Donor Room is located in Suite 265 in the new Medical Services Building, 755 North Broadway, on the Phelps Memorial Hospital campus in Sleepy Hollow. We will gratefully accept blood donations:

  • Monday and Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm;
  • Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 am - 8 pm;
  • Friday, 9 am - 3 pm.
