'Valentine's Ask' - Help HV Rescue Group With Puppy's Surgery
Donate in a loved one's name and they'll receive a Valentine's eCard and updates on Snow from Paws Crossed in Westchester County.

ELMSFORD, NY — Since she was found lying on the side of a Kentucky road in the snow, this little dog has had a lot of angels in her life. Paws Crossed Animal Rescue is looking for help this Valentine's Day, with a way that you can be a "Snow Angel" too.
Only six months old, the puppy now named Snow has such old injuries, with gaping wounds, road rash, bones broken and badly fused, that she's going to need one of her hind legs amputated. And that costs money: The estimate for everything from exams and x-rays, surgery to post-op treatment is roughly $3,700.

The folks at the Westchester County-based rescue group know that for Valentine’s Day there are so many ways to say "I love you" and so much marketing around jewelry, cards and chocolate.

But kindness and compassion can last longer.
"Share the love this Valentine's Day. We will send your loved one an ecard with a Valentine's message from you and a little information on Snow. After Snow's surgery we will also follow up and let your special someone know just what a difference they made in helping this sweet girl."

"All of us here at Paws Crossed Animal Rescue fell in love with Snow at first 'Hello,'" Julie Potter, business and development director of the rescue group, told Patch. "Despite such a traumatic past, this girl is nothing but pure sweetness. It never ceases to amaze us, the resiliency that animals have, both physically and emotionally. With the incredible outpouring of help from our amazing Paws Crossed family, we are so excited to set Snow on her road to a healthy and happy life."
