9/11: Serve + Remember
Volunteer New York!'s 13th annual 9/11: Serve and Remember community-wide day of service is more than just an event; it's a testament to our shared resilience, unity and the power of collective action. Volunteers can participate in family-friendly opportunities, from creating laundry sachets and literacy kits to cards for troops at the Westchester County Center on 9/11. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.

9/11 Community Clothing Sort Day
To honor the 9/11 Day of Service, The Sharing Shelf is inviting volunteers to help sort through donated clothing for its Community Sort Day. Volunteers will be trained how to sort through donated clothing at the Sharing Shelf clothing bank. This is a great opportunity to learn about the organization and its many other volunteer opportunities in the coming months.

Fall "Got Veggies?" Teen Volunteer Event
Teen volunteers will gather to help an organic community farm harvest vegetables, pick eggs and prepare the farm for fall—all while learning about food insecurity in Westchester. Volunteers should wear work boots and clothes that can get dirty; all volunteers will be treated to an ice cream break and will be able to take veggies home with them!

Grandparents Day Volunteers
The Knolls is looking for volunteers to help with its Grandparents Day for its senior residents. Volunteers will help set up for the event, play games like bocce ball and miniature golf, serve food, assist with activities such as music and dancing and clean up after the event is over. This is a great activity for cheerful volunteers as young as 16.
Date: Sept. 10 from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

International Coastal Cleanup Day
Join Westchester Parks Foundation for International Coastal Cleanup Day—one of the world's largest annual preservation and protection events and volunteer efforts for our oceans, waves, and beaches! Volunteers are needed to help remove litter and debris from trails, sandy beaches, and salt marshes at local parks. Tools, work gloves, and trash bags will be provided, but volunteers should bring their own water bottles and snacks. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty, as well as sunscreen, bug spray and a hat.
