SETAUKET, NY — A Long Island community has raised a total of $105,024 for only three days after a fire completely devastated a Setauket home and injured five people.

A GoFundMe titled "Brooks Family House Fire" collected $39,246 and one titled "Please Help Plumbers Local #200 Brother and Family" gained $65,778 as of Friday, to financially support who "lost everything" in a house fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. at a Franko Lane residence. Five residents of the house were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of not life-threatening injuries, police said.

One organizer, Kaylie Gazura wrote that the family are "sweet friends and neighbors" who would always help others.

"The entire family has been a staple in our community and loving friends to many of us in our times of need," the description said. "We invite our community to join us to show them the same support that they have always shown all of us."

Organizer of the Plumbers fundraiser, Mario R. Mattera, wrote that the family lost "all their possessions."

The home was completely engulfed and burned to the ground, leaving just a fireplace and a bare foundation.

"While we will never be able to replace what they have lost, we can show them that we all stand with them," the description said.
