Here are the top stories today in Three Village:
- A former synagogue with deep roots in Suffolk County now holds a historic designation. The building that was once a synagogue was recognized with a historical marker on Main Street in Setauket. The building was the first synagogue built on Long Island. (ABCNews)
- If you’re looking for vintage Christmas ornaments and décor, Rosie’s Vintage holiday pop-up sale is the place to be. In addition to ornaments sold individually or in packages, this Huntington vintage emporium’s Christmas shop features little ceramic Santas, elves and reindeer, festive mugs, an endless assortment of holiday-themed salt and pepper shakers, angel candlestick holders and so much more! Ninety-five percent of the vintage Christmas that they have in the store is from houses on Long Island. There are cute and colorful Putz houses from Japan, handmade in the 1940s through 1960s out of cardboard, mica glitter "snow" and acetate, some of which are wired to light up. (Newsday)
- The Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Chamber of Commerce will host screenings of The Polar Express in the Chamber Train Car, corner of Nesconset Highway and Route 112, Port Jefferson Station on weekends. - Riverhead Police arrested one person on a Driving While Intoxicated charge during a Thanksgiving Eve Stop DWI enforcement effort last Wednesday and issued 19 summonses for other violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Police conducted three sobriety checkpoints in the Town of Riverhead interviewing, in total, 800 motorists, according to a Riverhead Police Department press release this morning. (RiverheadLOCAL)

- The Stratford Fire Department responded to a house fire on Alexandria Drive on Thanksgiving Day. They determined the fire was located on the outside of the house at an electrical outlet, which became overloaded and ignited the vinyl on the home. (WTNH.com)
- Christina Sheehan was a young woman who was defined by family and friends as warm, loving and generous. She recently purchased a home in Amityville and loved the Village, according to her mother Rosanne. (Amityville Record)
- A Bridgeport man who founded an organization to help keep kids off the streets will make his national TV debut next week. News 12 first spoke with Harry Bell 10 years ago at Trumbull Gardens in the North End of Bridgeport. (News 12 Brooklyn)
