UPDATE: East Setauket Man Shot Outside Home

Man is listed in fair condition at SBUMC.

Update: Aug. 30, 12:30 p.m. – John Straitz, the man shot outside his home in East Setauket on Sunday, is now listed in fair condition at the hospital.

According to police, the incident is still under investigation.

An East Setauket man is in serious condition at Stony Brook University Medical Center after being shot outside his home on Ringneck Lane, according to Suffolk County police.

John Straitz, 50, was found by his daughter at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night lying on the ground next to his vehicle.

East Setauket Rescue transported Straitz to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Police said the investigation is continuing, and anyone with information on this incident can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-220-TIPS.
