The honey bee plays an important role in the pollination of plants, so the Long Island Beekeepers Club promotes proper beekeeping techniques for suburban environments. Dr. Marla Spivak, a distinguished professor and entomologist from the University of Minnesota, will be the guest speaker at this month's meeting.
