Girl, 15, Shot In Car By Boy, 17, On Long Island: Police

She was treated at an area hospital; the other teen has been charged with assault and robbery in connection, Suffolk police said.

SETAUKET, NY — A 15-year-old girl was shot by a 17-year-old boy as she sat in a car in Setauket late on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

The female was inside a vehicle on Tenpoint Lane, which is in a residential neighborhood, at around 11:15 p.m., and was later taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The teen was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault and held overnight for arraignment Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip.
