Man Arrested on Drug Charges at LI Elementary School Playground
Police say the 25-year-old was with his 2-year-old daughter at the time.
CENTEREACH, NY – A 25-year-old man was arrested on drug charges while he was with his 2-year-old daughter at a Long Island elementary school playground Wednesday afternoon, police said.
During the course of a narcotics investigation, detectives arrested Chaleek Williams for possession and intent to sell crack cocaine on the playground at Oxhead Road Elementary School in Centereach around 4 p.m., police said.
Williams was also in possession of a quantity of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, police said.

As he was being placed under arrest, Williams, of Centereach, became combative and had to be restrained by officers, police said.
Williams was charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal possession of narcotics resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Williams is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
The child was released into the custody of family.
