Question of the Day: Have You Ever Adopted a Shelter Pet?

Each week, Patch brings you a profile of a cat or dog at a local animal shelter who needs a home. Oftentimes moving, the stories are clear: here's an animal who needs some love.

Some shelters, like Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue and the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter, even host special adoption events from time to time to encourage awareness of their many pets in need of homes. Oftentimes, the animals receive spaying or neutering and routine shots while at the shelter.
