  1. Three Village Garden Club volunteer day is scheduled for April 16 from noon to 3 p.m. All who are registered at the Nature Initiative are invited to help to plant daffodil bulbs and to clear invasive plants. To learn more about the youth program, click here. (Avalon Preserve)
  2. Minnesauke Elementary School students are hosting a fundraiser called "Operation Hope for Ukraine." The plan is to make bracelets and sell them for $1 and donate the proceeds overseas to the Ukraine red Cross along with friendly cards made by the students. (TVSD)
  3. Emma Clark Memorial Library will host a virtual Archaeology class led by an instructor from the Suffolk County Archaeological Association. The meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, April 11 at 7 p.m. Click the link to register. (ECML)
  4. Toast Coffeehouse located at Port Jefferson Village will be moving to a new location in Port Jefferson Station. Owner Terry Scarlatos will move the business into a larger space with more parking availability at 242 E. Main St. to 650 Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.   5. Nearby News: Shots were fired at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. A man and woman ran back inside the mall after being shot at by two male suspects. The incident happened on the second floor of the parking garage. Police confirmed no injuries were reported but continue to search for all involved in the shooting. (News12)
