Here are the 4 top stories in Three Village today:

  1. Stony Brook Alum Amber Tsai was killed along with her friend, Collin Davis, at her house in the Dallas suburbs on Saturday. The shooter, Edward Freyman, was found later by police dead in his car by suicide. Family and friends are mourning Amber's death, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral expenses. 2. The Long Island Sound Connections Summit hosted by the Ward Melville Heritage Organization was held in early June. The program encourages students to study the water system and Long Island Sound, inspiring them to protect the environment through data research. Sony Brook University and professor Jeffrey Levinton collaborated on the project. (TBR News Media)
  3. A poll released by Monmouth University shows the number of Americans struggling financially has increased by two digits since last year. According to the research, the big enemy is inflation and gas prices, along with "the federal government’s actions are hurting them." (News12)
  4. Singer Paige Patterson will be in concert at the Emma Clark Library on July 8 at 6 p.m.! The outdoor "Pure Joy" show features songs from Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, Carole King, and more. Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the summer evening with the library friends. (Patch)
