1. Vuoi imparare Italiano? Stony Brook University will offer Italian classes at the Italian Studies Center at 100 Nicolls Road in Stony Brook. Classes start in the fall. Online courses will be available. (TBR News Media)
2. The Jazz Loft features Live tours of jazz history. Sessions will be presented on Sept. 10 and Oct. 21. The experience will last 30 minutes, and tickets are on sale here. (TBR News Media)
3. Community Shred Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 3, at the parking lot of the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. Each person can bring five boxes with documents that need to be shredded. No plastic, newspaper, folders, or magazines will be accepted. 4. Are you a fan of the Port Jefferson Charles Dickens Festival? If so, you can participate in the event as a "street character." Actors, singers, dancers, and more are being called.
