  1. Teacher Nicolette DeMartino and the Three Village School District celebrate her nomination as the Science Teacher of the Year. The award was granted by the Science Teachers Association of New York State. (TVS District)
  2. Dance it out at the Emma S. Clark Library on Thursday, June 16, at a Zumba class. Instructor Linda Morton will be on the post with a playlist of Latin music at 10 a.m. (ESCM Library)
  3. Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta and St. Joseph's Church invite the community to become superheroes by participating in a blood drive on June 28. The event will be held at the Travis Hall in Kings Park from 1-7 p.m. The donations will benefit the blood banks on Long Island. (LongIsland.com)
  4. Hikers and bikers will have to check out the new trail that has been in the making for 50 years and is finally ready to receive adventurers. The 10-mile path wash a train route back in the day and now officially serves Long Islanders as the North Shore Rail Trail that opened last Friday. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
