Three Village Student Raises $5K With His Voice to Honor Late Great Uncle
Walsh Surpasses Original Goal

Garrison Walsh, an incoming seventh grader at Murphy Middle School, has been working hard to raise money for a special cause - his great uncle’s headstone. What began with lemonade stands and car washes soon transformed into something greater, once Garrison realized his true talent was the best fundraiser of all: his voice.
Garrison has been singing locally for years, getting his start at church when he was just four years old. Since then, he’s become a familiar face in the community, performing the National Anthem at various Three Village events and even singing before a New York Yankees game in May.
Wanting to do something meaningful, Garrison came up with the idea to hold a series of local fundraising events where he could perform and collect donations. His most recent was a three-part event singing at local restaurants, including a performance at The Bench in July. Thanks to the overwhelming community support, Garrison raised over $5,000, surpassing his original goal.
With the funds raised, Garrison helped design the headstone for his great Uncle Felix, and the family has recently placed a deposit to begin the process.
Garrison and his great uncle shared a deep love of music, singing, and playing instruments. Garrison plays the trumpet and sings in the school chorus, and he’s excited to continue performing. He’s set to sing at an upcoming New York Rangers game and is eager to take the stage at more local events as well.

Though he was once nervous to sing in public, Garrison now embraces the spotlight. “I was so nervous,” he said, “but now I’m really proud, and I like singing in front of a crowd.”
