Weekend Guide: Spring Appreciation Day in Stony Brook Village

Spring is in full swing in Three Village, and along with it comes a selection of spring-like events including sports, gardening and benefits.
- The Setauket Fire Department is opening its doors to area residents so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technician in their community on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- The Civic Association of the Setaukets & Stony Brook is holding its spring clean-up at the Stony Brook Rail Road station from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
- Current 6th graders and all Gelinas JHS students and families are welcome to the Spring Carnival Friday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 per student or $25 per family.
- The Greening of 25A, a committee of the Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook, is sponsoring its Annual Spring Clean-Up of the Stony Brook Train Station on Saturday morning.
- It's Spring Appreciation Day in Stony Brook Village Saturday beginning at noon. Included in the events are a children's theater, petting zoo, “Long Island’s Got Talent” semi-finalist performances and live music with WALK-FM along with “Walkie Bear” from 1 to 3 pm.
- Caring for a seriously ill loved one takes an enormous amout of energy, time, compassion and love. Caroline Church, Parish House hosts a support group Saturday at 9:30am.
- The Emma S. Clark Library hosts its first ever Pet Adoption Fair on Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the library lawn featuring various animal rescue organizations and animal advocacy associations.
- Enjoy the Seiskaya ballet spring performance at the Staller Center Friday at 7 p.m.
- Come out and support your Seawolves at Football's spring game April 28th at Lavalle Stadium at 6 p.m. Admission is free for all.
