New Sneaker Shop Opens In Yorkville, Upping Neighborhood's Cool Factor

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The stereotypically stodgy Upper East Side got marginally cooler this week, thanks to the arrival of a fashionable new sneaker shop.
Vaulted Laces opened up Tuesday on Third Avenue between East 88th and 89th streets, in a narrow storefront previously home to a nail salon.
Photos show a sleek interior lined with shoe-filled shelves. Kicks listed for sale on Vaulted Laces' website include Nike Dunks, Kanye West-branded Adidas Yeezys, and, of course, Jordans — not to mention a store-branded t-shirt and apparel from the cult-favorite Supreme.

The shop's arrival was first reported by East Side Feed and Upper East Site. Its owner, Apler T., grew up on the Upper East Side and told both outlets that he was excited to introduce sneaker-head culture to his home neighborhood.
"Vaulted Laces," he told East Side Feed, refers to his ambition to soar over his competitors by offering hard-to-find items rarely sold by traditional chain shoe stores.
