Woman Hurt After Falling 7 Stories From UES Building, Police Say

The woman fell into the street from a building on First Avenue near East 81st Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman was injured Friday after falling seven stories an Upper East Side building, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The woman fell into the street from the elevated height about 11:45 a.m. from a building on First Avenue and East 81st Street, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The spokeswoman could not confirm whether the woman had fallen accidentally or had jumped.

The woman is expected to survive the fall, police said. Police could not confirm any information about the woman's age or identity.
