UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A nearly 100-year-old two-story Yorkville parking garage will soon become a condo building, according to recently filed permits.

The 99-year-old garage at 439 East 77th St., near York Avenue, is slated to be demolished and replaced by a nearly 75-foot-tall, seven story residential development, the permits show.

Documents reveal that the new building will have almost 30,000 feet of residential floorspace spread across 16 units.

That means each apartment will average at a spacious 1,800 square feet each, hinting that the building will probably be condos, according to New York YIMBY, who first reported on the filing.

When the wrecking bell comes for the two-story garage — built in 1924 by architect Louis A. Sheinart — the block will lose 96 parking spots.

The new building will include a pair of indoor parking spots, documents say, as well as a 30-foot-long yard and a cellar.

One person on social media lamented that it was "one of the few affordable garages left in the area."

Jack Ezra of Urban Spring Capital is listed as the owner on the filed permits and the building last traded hands in December for $5.8 million.

No timeline for demolition or construction has been announced.
