2 Men Stabbed On Busy Upper West Side Street Corner: Police

A delivery man was one of the men stabbed Tuesday night at Amsterdam Avenue and West 82nd Street, according to ABC 7.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An Upper West Side street corner known for its nightlife was full of sirens Tuesday night as two men were stabbed in front of 200 West 82nd Street (Amsterdam) around 9:50 p.m., police said.

Officers arrived to find a 44-year-old man with stab wounds to his left bicep, and a 20-year-old man with a stab wound to the left side of his torso, police said.

Emergency services rushed both men to mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital in stable condition.

ABC 7 reports that the older man was delivering food on the UWS block when an unidentified attacker approached him and said, "What are you doing here? This is our area."

The man proceeded to stab the 44-year-old, prompting the 20-year-old to run to his aid, and also get stabbed, according to ABC 7.

The West 82nd and Amsterdam area is full of popular restaurants and bars, including The Gin Mill, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, The Dead Poet, and Peacefood Cafe.

The NYPD's 20th Precinct is also on West 82nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus.

The attacker fled the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
