$50K Powerball Winner Sold On UWS: Report

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY – A very lucky person just won a nice chunk of change, thanks to a lottery ticket that they purchased on the Upper West Side, according to a report in PIX11.

Although someone in California will take home a $44.3 million jackpot, whoever bought the winning Powerball ticket at Lucky Corner will walk away with a not-too-shabby $50,000.

Just how lucky? The odds of winning $50,000 are about 1 in 900,000, according to Powerball.

The lifetime odds of being struck by lightning? 1 in 15,300, according to the National Weather Service.

Lucky Corner is located not far from the 1/2/3 station at 96th and Broadway. Reached by phone, a store rep confirmed that the $50K ticket had indeed been sold at Lucky Corner.

The store rep did not, however, remember who might have purchased the winning ticket.
