6 Injured After Cop Car Swerves Into Outdoor Dining Area, NYPD Says
The cop car was driving up Broadway when it swerved to avoid hitting a yellow cab in Morningside Heights.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — A marked police car crashed into an outdoor dining setup in Morningside Heights after swerving to avoid hitting a yellow cab on Monday afternoon, leading to several injuries, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, the cop car was driving northbound on Broadway with its lights and sirens activated when it swerved to avoid hitting a yellow cab that was turning left on West 112th Street at 4:09 p.m.
The cop car swerved into an outdoor dining setup, striking a 63-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, police said.

The two civilians, along with three police officers and a 32-year-old man who was in the cop car, were all rushed to Saint Luke's Hospital, where they are in stable condition, police said.
The taxi driver, a 37-year-old man, was issued a summons for failure to yield, police said.

The incident is under investigation, and no arrests have been made yet, police said.
