73-Year-Old Woman Hit And Killed By Car Backing Up On UWS: NYPD
An UWS resident was walking at West 66th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on Saturday when she was hit and killed by a Hyundai SUV, police said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Ilse Falcone, 73, was walking on Saturday morning at West 66th Street and Amsterdam, when she was hit and killed by a car backing out of a parking spot, said the New York Police Department.
Police arrived on the scene just after 8:10 a.m. to find Falcone unconscious and unresponsive with injuries to her head and body.
Emergency services rushed her to Mount Sinai West, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that a 51-year-old man was reversing a 2007 Hyundai SUV out of a parking spot on the south side of West 66th Street, when he struck Falcone, police said.
Falcone was an Upper West Side resident who lived near West 73rd Street, police added.

The driver of the car remained on the scene, and the incident is being investigated by NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
