The elderly woman was pushed to the ground and robbed while entering her apartment building.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify two robbers who violently mugged an 85-year-old woman as she entered her Upper West Side apartment building, police said.

The woman was walking into her West 74th Street and Broadway building on Saturday evening when she was approached from behind by two unknown women and pushed to the ground, police said. The muggers snatched the woman's purse — which contained cash and a cellphone valued at a combined $3,200 — before fleeing the scene, police said.

Medical attention was refused by the victim at the scene of the crime. Police described the two suspects as women in their late teens or early 20s. The NYPD released images of the suspects taken by security cameras after the robbery (seen above).
