On October 6, 2023, the Food Service Staff at Amsterdam Nursing Home, the large 409-bed skilled nursing facility on Amsterdam Avenue and 112th Street honored their food service folks during the week of October 1, which was National Healthcare Food Service Week.

Amsterdam Nursing Home's leadership felt it was a great time to wholeheartedly compliment their food service staff with various recognitions over a special lunch. The food at Amsterdam Nursing Home has been praised for a long time, as seen in this 2021 story in the Amsterdam News and according to Administrator Moshe Blackstein, they are a staff to be congratulated.

"To honor our Food Service staff is long overdue," said Blackstein. "Whether it's a summer BBQ, special food during the holidays, or during the course of the year, our kitchen staff always does an amazing job."
