Arrest Made In Unprovoked Upper West Side Punching Attack: NYPD
A 27-year-old homeless man was arrested Wednesday for breaking a man's face on West 65th Street, police said.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An arrest has been made in a random Upper West Side attack that left a man in the hospital with a broken face, police said.
Elkin Ortiz, 27, was arrested Wednesday in connection to the attack and charged with assault, police said.
The attack happened on Friday, when a man walked up to a 27-year-old man in front of 13 W. 65th St. about 11:10 a.m. and punched him multiple times in the face, police said.

The attacker ran away, and the victim was rushed to Mount Sinai West in stable condition with multiple facial fractures, police said.
NYPD said that Ortiz is "undomiciled," which means he is a homeless person living on the streets — not in a shelter.
