UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A dead man was found floating in the Hudson River Monday afternoon, police said.

The man, who was found unconscious and unresponsive, was pulled out of the water near West 79th Street on the Upper West Side about 12:07 p.m., an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Patch.

The man, who’s believed to be an adult, remained unidentified Tuesday.

An NYPD spokeswoman couldn’t immediately say how long the police believed he’d been in the water.

A medical examiner is determining the cause of the death, the NYPD said.
