Bomb Squad Investigates Unattended Package In Central Park: NYPD
The package was located on West 71s Street and Central Drive. Police shut down a section of Central Park West while investigating.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — Police shut down an area of Central Park West on Friday morning to investigate an unattended package left inside the park, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The NYPD bomb squad and emergency services units responded to West 71st Street and Central Drive after receiving reports of an unattended package, the spokeswoman said. The package was deemed non-threatening and was cleared from the area around 10:45, police said.
The package is not connected to a series of explosive devices sent to high-profile Democrat officials and media organizations in recent days, NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence & Counterterrorism John Miller said during a press confernce. Miller described the package as a box leaning on a tree.

A mail bomb was flagged at a Hell's Kitchen post office on Friday morning and removed from the facility without any injuries.
